Using a Blackberry 8100 with EZDispatch:

There are 2 ways to set up EZDispatch on your BlackBerry device. It can be set up on the default web browser or Opera Mini. While both are functional, we recommend using Opera Mini, simply because it offers a better layout and user interface. Install instructions for the default web browser are below the instructions for Opera Mini.

Using Opera Mini (recommended)

Step 1:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

First, we need to download and install Opera Mini. To begin this process, we open "Browser" from the home screen.

Step 2:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Once the browser is open, you will see a screen like this one. Press the menu key to open the menu.

Step 3:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Choose "Go To..." from the menu.

Step 4:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Enter this address and press enter: www.operamini.com

Step 5:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Choose the first link on the page ("Download Opera Mini").

Step 6:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Press the Download button.

Step 7:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

The download may take a minute or two.

Step 8:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Some BlackBerries will prompt you that this file does not contain a signature. Press the Yes button to continue.

Step 9:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

You will be alerted that the application was successfully installed. Choose OK.

Step 10:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Press the menu button, and choose "Close" (the last option).

Step 11:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Now we want to add Opera Mini to the home screen for easy access. From the home screen, press the menu key, and choose Options.

Step 12:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Select "Organize Applications"

Step 13:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Scroll down until you see "Opera Mini", and select it. From the menu choose "Move Application"

Step 14:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Scroll up until "Opera Mini" is right next to Browser.

Step 15:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Now select Browser, and again choose "Move Application" (we don't need BOTH on the home screen)

Step 16:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Move it back down near where Opera Mini was. When you are done, exit back to the home screen.

Step 17:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

You will now see the icon for Opera Mini. Open it.

Step 18:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

In order to support secure links, Opera needs a random key. It generates this key using your random input. When prompted, randomly press the number keys, or randomly move your trackball or joystick.

Step 19:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Once that is done, it will tell you that it is going to try to connect to the internet, and ask you to press OK to start. Choose OK. You usually do this by pressing the key below it on your keyboard (probably q or w).

Step 20:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Once it has connected, it will give you an introduction screen. Read this if you wish, and then choose OK.

Step 21:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

This is what you will normally see when you open Opera Mini. We are going to add a shortcut to EZDispatch here.

Step 22:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Scroll down to "Bookmarks..." and choose it.

Step 23:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Now choose Manage (again you press the key below that on your keyboard, probably q or w). From the Manage menu, choose Add.

Step 24:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Fill in Title with what you want to call the link (we recommend something simple and descriptive, like EZDispatch or even EZD). Then fill in Address with this (substitute username for your EZDispatch username, and password for your password): EZDispatch.com?u=username&p=password
Now check the checkbox next to "Display on start page" and choose Save (again, probably by pressing the q or w on your phone).

Step 25:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

You are now viewing the Bookmarks page again. Simply choose the Back option (probably the o or p key on your keyboard).

Step 26:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

This is the screen that you will see from now on when you enter Opera Mini. As you can see, there is now an additional link to get to EZDispatch. Select it.

Step 27:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

Once you choose to go to EZDispatch, it will read Connecting at the bottom of the screen.

Step 28:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

If this is the first time that you have used Opera Mini, it will prompt you to accept the user license. Check the checkbox, and choose continue.

Step 29:

BlackBerry Screen Shot

You will see the "Connecting" bar again, as it conencts you to EZDispatch.
